Active Isolated Stretching is a method of muscle and fascia release that is founded on controlling the body’s stretch reflexes.  The A.I.S. method myofascial release technique uses active movement of the muscles on the opposite side of the muscles being stretched.  Using a 1 ½-2 second stretch has proven to be the key in avoiding contraction of the muscles and connective tissue that is being stretched.
